Position Summary
The Digital Marketing & Communications Coordinator supports the organization's communications and engagement efforts through the creation and distribution of digital content. This role is responsible for developing newsletters, creating social media content, and supporting a variety of communications initiatives that enhance brand awareness, stakeholder engagement, and organizational visibility.
The ideal candidate is a strong writer, creative storyteller, and organized communicator who can manage multiple projects while maintaining a consistent brand voice across channels.
Key Responsibilities
1. Newsletter Creation and Email Communications (40%)
Develop, write, design, and distribute monthly digital newsletters.
Gather content from internal teams, programs, and stakeholders.
Create compelling copy, graphics, and calls-to-action that engage audiences.
Manage email marketing platforms and subscriber lists.
Monitor newsletter performance metrics and recommend improvements.
Ensure all communications align with organizational branding and messaging guidelines.
2. Social Media Content Creation and Management (40%)
Create and schedule engaging content across social media platforms.
Develop graphics, captions, short-form videos, and promotional materials.
Maintain a consistent brand voice and visual identity.
Monitor engagement and respond to comments or messages as appropriate.
Track social media analytics and provide performance reports.
Stay informed about emerging social media trends and best practices.
3. Other Communications and Marketing Support (20%)
Assist with the development of marketing and promotional materials.
Support event promotion and communications campaigns.
Draft announcements, press releases, blog posts, and other communications materials.
Maintain content calendars and communications schedules.
Support special projects and other communications initiatives as assigned.
Qualifications
Required
Experience in digital marketing, communications, public relations, or a related field.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Experience creating content for email marketing and social media platforms.
Proficiency with Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar design tools.
Familiarity with email marketing platforms such as Mailchimp.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to work independently and manage priorities with minimal supervision.
Preferred
Experience with website content management systems (e.g., Squarespace) ● Knowledge of social media analytics and reporting tools.
Experience working with nonprofit, educational, community-based, or mission-driven organizations.
