Location: Mostly remote, with some in-person events

Position Summary 

The Digital Marketing & Communications Coordinator supports the organization's communications and engagement efforts through the creation and distribution of digital content. This role is responsible for developing newsletters, creating social media content, and supporting a variety of communications initiatives that enhance brand awareness, stakeholder engagement, and organizational visibility. 

The ideal candidate is a strong writer, creative storyteller, and organized communicator who can manage multiple projects while maintaining a consistent brand voice across channels. 

Key Responsibilities 

1. Newsletter Creation and Email Communications (40%) 

  • Develop, write, design, and distribute monthly digital newsletters. 

  • Gather content from internal teams, programs, and stakeholders. 

  • Create compelling copy, graphics, and calls-to-action that engage audiences.

  • Manage email marketing platforms and subscriber lists. 

  • Monitor newsletter performance metrics and recommend improvements.

  • Ensure all communications align with organizational branding and messaging guidelines. 

2. Social Media Content Creation and Management (40%) 

  • Create and schedule engaging content across social media platforms.

  • Develop graphics, captions, short-form videos, and promotional materials.

  • Maintain a consistent brand voice and visual identity. 

  • Monitor engagement and respond to comments or messages as appropriate.

  • Track social media analytics and provide performance reports. 

  • Stay informed about emerging social media trends and best practices.

3. Other Communications and Marketing Support (20%)

  • Assist with the development of marketing and promotional materials.

  • Support event promotion and communications campaigns. 

  • Draft announcements, press releases, blog posts, and other communications materials.

  • Maintain content calendars and communications schedules. 

  • Support special projects and other communications initiatives as assigned.

Qualifications 

Required 

  • Experience in digital marketing, communications, public relations, or a related field.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. 

  • Experience creating content for email marketing and social media platforms.

  • Proficiency with Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar design tools.

  • Familiarity with email marketing platforms such as Mailchimp. 

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. 

  • Ability to work independently and manage priorities with minimal supervision.

Preferred 

  • Experience with website content management systems (e.g., Squarespace) ● Knowledge of social media analytics and reporting tools. 

  • Experience working with nonprofit, educational, community-based, or mission-driven organizations.
