Maria Elkin is the Director of Communications at the Center for Community Progress, where she leads strategy for written content, visual brand, and audience engagement. With more than 10 years of experience making complex topics accessible, from global health to paid leave policy to cybersecurity, she pairs strong copywriting with thoughtful design and data visualization. At Community Progress, she has developed the organization’s first editorial style guide, built an SEO-focused content strategy, refined the visual brand, led a website redesign, and championed equitable, community-focused messaging. Elkin holds a dual BA in Political Science and Communications from Michigan State University and lives in Washington, DC.
