How to Communicate a Commitment to Disability Inclusion
Gail Fuller and Olivia Williams, editor-in-chief and program & communications associate, respectively, at the Disability & Philanthropy Forum, will reprise a popular ComNet22 Learning Lab and share how and why to use disability-inclusive language, messaging, and imagery. Gail and Olivia will offer insights on how to engage with, and learn from, the disability community to inform better communications work.
We’ll explore:
How to effectively use inclusive language and imagery
How to bring disability considerations into your messaging
The importance of hiring and including disabled people in your organizations
ComNetwork SF Bay Area invites you to gather in community with one another and share how mission-driven communication leaders are approaching their messaging and building resilience when the principles and people fundamental to social change work are under attack.
This webinar builds on research from “Philanthropy’s New Voice,” the largest study of narratives in philanthropy, which examined what types of stories are more likely to build trust, what policymakers want to know from foundations, and how to describe the work foundations do in an authentic, accurate, and ethical way.
In our next Network webinar, RWJF will explore bold and innovative communications ideas from Africa to Colombia to New Zealand and beyond — showing how everything from soap to clowns can be communications vehicles for nonprofit and philanthropy comms professionals.
