The ComNetworkSF BAY AREA, in partnership with Change Consulting, invites you to an in-person gathering of communicators across the social sector, featuring a special conversation with members of Oakland Mayor Barbara Lee’s communications team.
Barbara Lee was elected the 52nd Mayor of Oakland in a historic special election held in April 2025, becoming the first Black woman to lead the city.
At a moment when cities are navigating complex challenges, the role of communications in shaping public understanding, building trust, and advancing policy priorities has never been more critical. This conversation will offer an inside look at how Oakland’s communications leaders are approaching this important function at the local level.
Event Details:
Lead communicators on the Mayor's team, Sarah Henry and Kim Bardakian, will share insights about their work and engage in conversation. An informal reception will follow the program.
