ComNetworkPDX Coffee & Breakfast
Start your day with coffee, pastries and good conversations with your ComNetworkPORTLAND friends.
Your favorite fellow cause communicators are gathering at the Center for Great Purposes inside the Meyer Memorial Trust offices. Catch up with familiar faces or meet someone new while enjoying some morning refreshments.
What to expect:
A casual, welcoming breakfast with your fellow cause communicators
A chance to meet new people and reconnect with familiar faces
The more the merrier! If you're planning on coming, bring a friend or colleague who might enjoy connecting with other mission-driven communicators. This is a perfect introduction to the community. If you are communicating to advance a social cause, you are welcome here!
We ask that all participants respect the Communications Network No Solicitation Policy, described below.
This opportunity for networking and learning is hosted by a volunteer committee representing the local Portland chapter of the Communications Network.
No Solicitation Policy
We ask everyone to observe The Communications Network’s No Solicitation Policy during all ComNetPDX gatherings. It’s a pretty simple list of DOs and DON’Ts, and by observing these rules you’ll be contributing to a comfortable community for everyone participating in our events.
Consultant and Vendor DOs
Do introduce yourself and your organization to people you meet.
Consultant and Vendor DON’Ts
Don’t share and link to marketing materials.
Don’t ask for business.
Nonprofit DOs
Do tell grantmakers about your organization’s work.
Do follow up on leads after, as appropriate.
Nonprofit DON’Ts
Don’t share requests for proposals.
Don’t ask on the spot if they want to fund your organization.
Don’t send everyone you meet a request for funding.
Foundation DOs
Do invite nonprofits to follow up with you, if appropriate.
Do say, “Sorry, this isn’t the place,” if you’re faced with a request for funding.
Foundation DON’Ts
Don’t accept proposals on the spot.
Don’t mistake enthusiasm from nonprofit leaders about their programs for a request for funding.
For Everyone
Do respect the spirit of the No Solicitation rule beyond the obvious DOs and DON’Ts mentioned above.
