Using the Upspoken campaign, an effort that reached more than 40,000 Black women with culturally specific content to address their sexual health, this session will share strategies for building culturally competent and engaging public awareness campaigns. We will explore how to move beyond sharing information, and inspire audiences by openly appreciating and tapping into their challenges and strengths. We will demonstrate how to create an authentic campaign that builds trust, encourages sustained engagement, and moves people toward solutions.
