Rachel Clift joined the Foundation as content writer and multimedia producer in March 2017.  Working in collaboration with internal teams, she produces content and develops and executes multimedia pieces that highlight the Foundation’s goals and support the strategic communications plan.

Following a decade-long career in documentary film and television, Ms. Clift transferred her writing and producing skills to the philanthropic sector in 2010, with a focus on international education.  Most recently, she served as the community engagement manager for the MasterCard Foundation Scholars Program, where she designed the content model for the annual scholars convening and developed the proposal for an online community platform.  Prior to that, she was communications officer at the Ford Foundation International Fellowships Program, managing and implementing communications initiatives that helped demonstrate the link between educational opportunity and social change.

Ms. Clift has consulted for the International Women’s Health Coalition, and has written and produced videos for Downtown Brooklyn Partnership, Women’s World Banking, and Safe Water Network.  In 2007, she was nominated for an Emmy for her work on the PBS series Diary of a Foodie, and in 2009, her team won an International Documentary Association award for Architecture School, a limited series for the Sundance Channel.  Her short films have screened in festivals internationally.

Ms. Clift earned a BA in women’s studies from Hamilton College and holds an MFA in film production from Boston University.
