Dr. Allison Scott

Dr. Allison Scott is the Chief Research Officer at the Kapor Center in Oakland, CA, where she leads a research agenda examining equity in computer science education, participation and retention in the technology workforce among underrepresented populations, and intersectionality and women of color in computing. This research aims to inform policies and practices to diversify technology, in order to improve economic opportunities for underrepresented communities and strengthen the innovation and competitiveness of our nation’s economy. Dr. Scott’s research has been supported by the Ford Foundation and the National Science Foundation and can be found in peer-reviewed journals, reports, and cited in media outlets. Dr. Scott holds a Ph.D. in Education from the University of California, Berkeley and a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Hampton University.
