Cynthia advises on messaging and promotion for the Mayor’s Fund in a range of program areas, including youth employment and workforce development, mental health awareness, and addressing inequities to improve community health outcomes for underserved communities. Cynthia brings over 15 years of communications experience to this role, with expertise in message development, crisis communications, and media and digital strategy working with leading national nonprofits and foundations. Prior to joining the Mayor’s Fund, Cynthia was Chief Communications Officer for the Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans of America. She has held leadership positions with the U.S. Fund for UNICEF, Planned Parenthood of New York City and the Nike Foundation for Girls. Active in her community in Brooklyn, Cynthia volunteers with the elderly and was a founding board member of Minds Matter, NYC. She holds a Master’s degree from the University of Edinburgh, UK, and a Bachelor’s degree from George Mason University.
