Assistant Director, Communications
Date Posted: 07/12/2019
For nearly 40 years, Martha’s Table has worked to support strong children, strong families, and strong communities by increasing access to quality education programs, healthy food, and family supports. We believe that every child deserves the opportunity for their brightest future and a deeply engaged family and community committed to their success.
Despite D.C.’s recent growth, immense inequities—in economic, health, educational, and other systems—continue to disproportionately affect residents living east of the Anacostia River. Over the past year, Martha’s Table has dramatically expanded our programs and refined our mission to respond to these challenges. In June of 2018, we opened our new headquarters in the Hillsdale/Fort Stanton neighborhood of Southeast D.C., later opening our satellite location in Columbia Heights in Northwest D.C. in March of this year. With these two new facilities—and our series of comprehensive health and wellness, education, and family support programming—we are committed to helping families on both sides of the Anacostia River thrive.
