Networks Matter

Build stronger ties and deeper connections with folks in comms for good.

Get to Know The Network.

A major part of our purpose at The Communications Network is building stronger ties and deeper connections among the folks working in comms for good.

It’s important work. And it doesn’t happen by accident.

That’s why in 2022 we’ll have monthly virtual speed networking to help you expand and build your personal network and make some friends along the way.

We’ll be using a platform called Gatheround (don’t worry it’s simple, you don’t have to download anything — and the folks who used it at V21 loved it).

Over 60 minutes you’ll meet one-on-one with 3-5 folks and spend 5-10 minutes chatting with each person you meet!

What to Expect?

When you join, you’ll see the stage at the top of the room — and you’ll also see the chat. Make sure to say hello to your host and others, and stay engaged in the chat!

You’ll be matched 1-on-1 with other Network members at random. Your video and audio will turn on and your group will see a series of cards with prompts that are meant to guide your conversation. Note that you will not be able to see yourself unless you hover over your avatar at the bottom of your screen. Once your conversation is over, your group will then automatically be sent back into the main room to do it again!

If you have any audio or video issues, click on the gear icon to change your device settings. If you need help, just press the question mark to address camera issues, connectivity problems, or anything else that doesn’t look right.
