ComNetworkMIAMI: Communicators Agents of Change
ComNetworkMiami, a local chapter of The Communications Network, hosts bi-monthly breakfast gatherings for South Florida nonprofit and social sector communicators. For our third event, we’ll continue to explore the topics and themes raised in the most recent release of Change Agent, The Communications Network’s national print journal.
As communicators, we help shape how staff leadership and boards frame issues for internal audiences by creating language that’s adopted into work culture. How are we using our power, insight and expertise to promote healthier workplaces for all? This discussion will be an open and safe space, covering vocabulary, prompts, common roadblocks and strategies to help develop more inclusive and affirming work environments.
The event will be held from 8:30 – 10 a.m. on Wednesday, June 19, at Ted’s at YoungArts. Complimentary self-parking in the garage; YoungArts is wheelchair accessible.
Following breakfast, you are invited to a guided tour of the National YoungArts Foundation’s current exhibition, “can we be as brave?” It unites the voices of 13 artists using photography to share stories of identity, self-love, intimacy, humanity, spirituality and physical and psychological boundaries—all with raw and honest emotion.
We encourage you to read Change Agent: The Racism Issue and to come ready and willing to share your challenges and triumphs.
