ComNetworkDETROIT: How to Design Virtual Gatherings
Chances are at this point in the pandemic, you’re a little tired of the same-old virtual gatherings. But true as that might be, your nonprofit or foundation is also likely planning now to pivot fall events online. That convening, conference, fundraiser, gala, or meeting must go on, right? Whatever your event dilemma is, a little design thinking might help. Join us at our next ComNetworkDETROIT virtual gathering, where we will put a communications lens on applying design thinking principles to our upcoming virtual events and gatherings. Shelley Danner, the program director for the nonprofit Challenge Detroit, a design thinking strategist, and adjunct professor at the College for Creative Studies, will join us and lead a one-hour workshop on Experience Design in the Virtual Environment. Since March, Danner has co-designed, facilitated and led over 125 hours of virtual programming, project collaborations and events. She’ll share what she’s learned and also save time for questions and for participants to share their virtual gathering experiences.
