ComNetworkDETROIT: Crisis Communications for Nonprofits & Foundations During COVID-19
When a crisis arises, you must be ready to respond. You know this all too well from the work you’re doing right now to support your organization through the coronavirus/COVID-19 pandemic. Our April ComNetworkDETROIT event will help you cope and contribute.
We’ll start with an overview of crisis communication best practices, shared by seasoned journalist, newsroom leader, and PR pro Ron Fournier, president of Truscott Rossman. Ron will walk us through a couple of examples of these practices in action, including a communications strategy related to COVID-19.
Then, we will hear from Chris Perry, chief development and marketing officer of the United Way for Southeastern Michigan. Chris will share how he’s leading communication efforts for UWSEM during the COVID-19 crisis to provide information and resources to community members, tell the stories of the nonprofits that serve them, and engage donors that can help ensure our communities are safe and cared for.
We will leave ample time for your questions and insights.
We hope you’ll join us for this timely conversation.
Stay home. Stay safe. Save lives.
