ComNetworkDC: An Afternoon with the World Wildlife Fund and Seeker Media
At the 2015 Communications Network annual conference, New York Times technology columnist Farhad Manjoo said “It seems unlikely to me that it [virtual reality] is not going to become the biggest thing.” That moment has come. The ability of virtual reality—as well as apps—to immerse people into stories, real or fictional, makes it one of our most powerful communications tools.
The Communications Network’s D.C. Leadership Group and World Wildlife Fund (WWF) invite you to a discussion on June 7th about using VR and apps to effect change. Speakers will include:
- Terry Macko, Senior Vice President of Marketing and Communications, WWF
- Aneeta Akhurst, Senior Producer, SeekerVR & Web Docs.
The discussion will be moderated by Mitch Gelman, CTO of the Newseum
Following the talk please enjoy cocktails and appetizers hosted by WWF.
RSVP: Guarantee your entry to the event HERE.
Date: June 7th
Time: 4:30 to 6:30
A tour of WWF’s green roof will be available at 4 p.m. for interested guests who arrive early.
WWF, the world’s largest private conservation organization, is a digitally engaged leadership organization that has capitalized on the use of app integration to inspire social good. Learn how WWF teamed up with Apple on a 10-day global campaign to help the planet, one app at a time; how they have connected with hundreds of millions of people through 27 apps and generated more than $8 million to support for their conservation work; and how their own award-winning app, WWF Together, has brought people closer than ever to 16 endangered species.
