Carol Stabler is the Director of Communications for The Meadows Foundation, where she has been responsible for managing the Texas philanthropy’s external relations since 1996. She supervises design and production of all foundation publications and serves as content manager for The Meadows Foundation website and Intranet.
Stabler has extensive experience in public relations, marketing, and advertising on local, national and international levels. A former lobbyist, Stabler received a letter of commendation from the U.S. ambassador to Mexico for leading a multinational communications effort on behalf of transportation issues associated with the NAFTA. In addition, she is a frequent speaker on communications and a published author whose work has appeared in national and international publications.
Stabler is a former appointee to the Mayor’s Task Force on the Dallas Arts District. She served on the steering committee for the 1994 American Symphony Orchestra League National Conference, has chaired numerous panels and workshops on “Communications in Philanthropy”, is a past member of the program committee for the Conference of Southwest Foundations, and former chair of its Communications Committee. In addition, she served as a media relations delegate to The Presidents’ Summit for America’s Future, chaired the Public Affairs Committee of the Council on Foundations, was a member of the Communications Task Force of the Independent Sector, the national Marco Polo Inquiry on the new work of communications in America’s foundations, and is a graduate Leadership Texas.
Stabler currently serves on the executive board of the Communications Network in Philanthropy, is a member of the Communications Committee of the Conference of Southwest Foundations, and is a board member of the Saint Vincent de Paul Thrift Store of Dallas. She received a BFA with honors in Arts Administration from Southern Methodist University in Dallas.
